No. There are no satellites involved in the AirFiber Alberta Internet system. AirFiber Internet is what is called “terrestrial AirFiber” meaning that the radio signals are generated and transmitted within the earth’s atmosphere. As a result, AirFiber Internet does not suffer from the problems that satellite Internet access does, such as interference from snow on the antenna, or high latency due to the long distances that satellite radio signals have to travel between the earth and the orbiting satellite

As an independent private network, we are not reliant on other companies to deliver the service to you as we use our own systems to deliver what you need.
We provide internet services to BOTH commercial and private clients in rural locations. We do not face the same speed restrictions in rural and urban areas that many other providers battle against or charge much more for.
Our AirFiber Alberta network can offer a high-speed connection to clients when even the traditional providers struggle.
With demand for internet services in many areas including Rural Alberta and all parts of Canada at an all-time high and only expected to continue to increase, we will continue to expand our network to offer the largest coverage of any rural internet provider. -

AirFiber Internet is becoming available in Rural Alberta.
Starting with the Foothills County and DeWinton area located near Calgary.
There are a few locations where it will not be available due to the fact that AirFiber Internet service requires a direct line of sight between some point on or around your location to one of our repeater towers. We are striving to implement as many repeaters so that every home regardless of location will be able to join our network.
If you’re wondering whether your location qualifies for AirFiber Internet service, give us a call, send us an email.
We’ll schedule a free site survey to test your location and make a determination on whether it is suited for AirFiber Internet service. -
